Cover Letters

Outreach Cover Letters Guide

Three cover letters are available for download at the links below or available for purchase with the Nar-Anon Outreach Packet. The downloadable PDFs can be printed and, or, photocopied for use by regions, areas, and groups for the purposes of outreach.

When using a cover letter, consider enclosing a local or regional meeting directory (if available), Conference Approved Outreach Posters (Nar-Anon poster, Narateen poster) Nar-Anon Offers Hope pamphlet, Narateen pamphlet or other outreach literature available in the Outreach Packet.

Putting Cover Letters to Work

Check with your local service structure, Group Service Representative (GSR), Area Service Representative (ASR), or Region Chair to see if there is an established outreach committee or coordinator. Find out when they meet and plan to attend the meeting. If a committee does not exist, individual members may carry the message with the use of these cover letters and material.

  • Use resources to identify local professionals who come in contact with those struggling with the problems of addiction. Consider gathering contact information for doctors, medical centers, therapists, mental health facilities, treatment centers, law enforcement, drug courts, child protective services, and religious organizations.

  • Group members can remain anonymous by distributing these letters to professionals in their community via postal service.

  • Group members that are willing to break their anonymity may drop these materials off personally or use their personal emails. Always ask the professional or appropriate administrator for approval to leave resource materials.

  • Have questions? Need help putting the letters to work? Email: outreach@nar-anon.org
